The Age of the Roman Martyrs
The Barque of Peter has ridden over many stormy seas in its 2000+ years of history. Purification and growth have been the result of struggle from within and with our the church.
In this volume , the author puts us in the midst of one of the greatest of these struggles. It was the struggle by the early Christians to plant the seed of Faith in the soil of a pagan world, a cause for which many of them died. We know them today as the early Roman martyrs.
The scene is set as we view the daily life of a Roman in 150 AD; as the cases are presented, we hear the Christians announce their Faith, and we hear the cry of the pagans, “The Christians to the lions!” We grow in appreciation and love for our Faith, for no one can discount a story for which so many are willing to give their lives.
